Unit 6 Feedback

Hi Julie and Kristy  Sorry for the delayed feedback this week - I've been healthy sick!  Anyways, overall, very nicely done.   I appreciate that you chose to focus on the topic of applications available to track the menstrual cycle.   We too chose to look at the wealth of applications available advertised to promote fertility prediction and contraception awareness.    I think that the availability of these technologies are immensely important for women, many of whom may have never taken the time to actually understand their cycles until the information became readily accessible at their fingertips.   It’s amazing how much more people pay attention to the details of their life when they have an “app” to store the data points in.    All components of required content appear to be present, with headings and subheadings making for an organized content outline.    The content and writing style appears logical, clear, and easy to...

Unit 6 feedback

Hi Julie, thanks for your informative post this week. We covered a similar topic for our early adulthood page. Our themes were parallel but didn’t seem redundant, which helps our overall website maintain its strength. I like that you used many references throughout the text. In this context, especially, utilizing science is of utmost importance. With the sheer number of apps available it is unfortunate how many don’t use strong science to support them. That being said, your page started off very strong with research backing everything. However, the sections covering the apps you chose to write about, as well as the advantages/disadvantages were lacking references to support the claims made. Your page layout is great, with clearly labeled sections and content that fits the topics. I found no spelling or grammar errors when I read through it. Your photos added a nice accent to the page and the videos were helpful as well. I know that finding good scientific/evidence-based videos can be ...

Unit 6 feedback

The webpage regarding technology for women’s health during late adolescents was written in a clear and logical order with an easy to read format. The headings were appropriate, directing the reader to exactly what information will be found in the following paragraph. The initial paragraph captured the shift towards using technology to track health which was efficient for setting the theme for the rest of the page. The page offers technology for tracking menstrual cycles along with the advantages and disadvantages for using technology to do so. The pictures and videos provided were efficient and gave readers insight as to what icons to look for when downloading applications, along with instruction on how to use the apps.   I think the page could have been more thorough regarding other uses of technology for females in their late adolescents. Providing more examples of technology that help manage stress, nutrition, exercise, and overall wellness could have benefite...

Unit 5 feedback

The webpage regarding the use of acupuncture as a complementary medicine for endometriosis provides viewers with a good understanding of the disease and the symptoms that can be experienced. The page offers thorough explanations along with videos to demonstrate what exactly endometriosis is and how it develops. However, the webpage could offer more information about acupuncture as a form of treatment. With no explanation of how acupuncture works, or what to expect during an acupuncture treatment, it creates uncertainty of whether or not the viewer would want to seek out this complementary treatment. Additionally, more information could be provided about the symptoms that are relieved with treatment along with the success rates. The website is organized in a logical sequence and the headings direct the reader to what information will be provided. There are not any grammatical errors or spellings errors noticed. The last video on the page offering tips for individuals ...
