Unit 6 Feedback

Hi Julie and Kristy

Sorry for the delayed feedback this week - I've been healthy sick!  Anyways, overall, very nicely done. I appreciate that you chose to focus on the topic of applications available to track the menstrual cycle. We too chose to look at the wealth of applications available advertised to promote fertility prediction and contraception awareness.  I think that the availability of these technologies are immensely important for women, many of whom may have never taken the time to actually understand their cycles until the information became readily accessible at their fingertips. It’s amazing how much more people pay attention to the details of their life when they have an “app” to store the data points in.

All components of required content appear to be present, with headings and subheadings making for an organized content outline.  The content and writing style appears logical, clear, and easy to follow.

You mentioned that the Clue was ranked as the top ovulation tracking app by the Obstetrics & Gynecology Journal, I am curious as to when that endorsement was made? Particularly when some of the evidence-based research that was incorporated into my own literature search indicated that only a small percentage of fertility apps were found to have an accurate ability to predict the fertility window, most of the popular apps per consumer rating (include my own personal favorite) did not make the cut. This may be cynical on my part, but I find myself wondering why certain organizations choose to endorse some products and not others, and whether or not there is an underlying conflict of interest in their endorsement.
